Sleeping Buddha: It is a statue that represents Buddha lying down and is a major iconographic and statuary pattern of Buddhism. It is also called the reclining Buddha. It represents the historical Buddha during his last illness, about to enter the parinirvanasana. Buddha is said to have known that his death was approaching while in this position. The Buddha asked his disciples to make a couch for him in a bush to make it easy for him to lie down. Buddha must leave his physical state of human being although he became the enlightened being. His death place is Kushinagar in India at the age of 80 years.
