Green Tara is a very popular representation of Tara in present time. Tara is a mother of all Buddhas. Tara is known as Dolma in Tibetan language and is also a Bodhisattva or Buddha of compassion and action. Tara is an emanation id Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of compassion. Once the Chenrezig was very moved by the sufferings of all sentient being, He shed two tears. The tear from his right eye turned in to the green form of Bodhisattva Tara. Green Tara is usually symbolizing protection from fear, and 8 obscurations such as pride, delusion/ignorance, hatred and anger, Jealousy, wrong and fanatical views, avarice and miserliness, desire and attachment, deluded doubts. Green Tara comes to relieve us from mental, physical, and spiritual sufferings.
