White Tara: Tara is a mother of all Buddhas. Tara is an emanation of Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of compassion. Once the Chenrezig was very moved by the sufferings of all sentient being, He shed two tears. The tear from his left eye turned in to a white form of Bodhisattva Tara. White Tara is very linked to his essential compassionate nature. Her whiteness also indicates the “Undifferentiated truth of the dharma”. The Tibetan name of white Tara is Dolkar, a short form of Dolpa Karpo. People pray white Tara for health, healing, and longevity. White Tara offers healing to our body which has been wounded or our mind which has been hurt.
