Vajrapani: Vajrapani is a compound word in Sanskrit in which Vajra means “thunderbolt or diamond” and “pain” means “in the hand”. She is one of the earliest-appearing bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism. He is the protector and guide of Gautam Buddha and rose to symbolize the Buddha’s power. Vajrapani is a member, along with Chenrezig and Manjushree of the Trinity if Bodhisattvas known as the three family protectors. The Buddha family of which Vajrapani is the protector is the Vajra family. Vajrapani represents the energy of the enlightened mind and the energy that breaks through delusion.
