Rahula is the god of planets. Rahula is one of many deities who entered the Buddhist Pantheon in Tibet and Mongolia through tantric Hinduism. He holds an important place in the pantheon of the Tibetan Nyingmapa and seen as the protector of the faith. He is also a demonic character, the beater of sickness and swallower of sun and moon during eclipses. Rahula leans back to draw his bow and shoot an arrow into the heart of anyone who breaks his religious vows.
